Transformational tips for effective learning

#teaching,#speaker,#listener,#writer,#learning,#tranformativelearning,

“A teacher can never truly teach unless he is still learning himself. A lamp can never light another lamp unless it continues to burn its own flame. The teacher who has come to the end of his subject, who has no living traffic with his knowledge but merely repeats his lessons to his students, can only load their minds,he cannot quicken them”.

Rabindranath Tagore

“The more you teach, the better you learn. Teaching is a powerful tool to learning.”

If you want to become a good speaker then you have to become a good listener. In the same way,if you want to become a good writer and teacher then you have to be become a good and analytical reader.

There are two types of learning in our life. One is informative. It is one where you are learning through information. For example passing different examination from school days till getting your professional job.

Aim of this learning is to provide information. It last for few months or years and as the times passess most of it is forgotten. Are you abe to recall, recapitulate or memorise any short notes of stardard ninth class of history..? Or science subject..?.

I think most of the time the answer is No or We are able to recall a scattered and small piece of information.

Informative learning is more memory based, examination oriented and it is for short term period.

Now I am going to talk about most important learning of life which is known as

“Transformative learning”.

Let me give you one example to make it clear and simple.I think during our childhood days ,most of us have tried to learn and ride bicycle.Did you know how many times you fell down and succeeded.

After so many trial and error and repeated fell down, you finally learnt the

“Art of cycling”.

I think,to learn the art of cycling you

haven’t gone to internet,

seen video over you tube or

collected any material or

read any written information.

Second amazing and interesting thing about it is that still now you can ride any bicycle so easily and swiftly without any efforts even after you left cycling before many years.

My point and crux of the story is that this is

“Transformative learning”

Any learning which brings about an longer lasting internal change in your life is transformative learning.

So we must focus on transformative learning in our school, college, University and top most institute.

“If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough”

Teacher,Researchers, parents, faculties, many life coach, professional development courses and sports experts, now have realised and experienced the importance of transformative learning.

It’s basically learning by doing.

So my conclusion is…

Transformative learning is learning by doing, less memory based and last for long term period or usually life time

“If your actions inspire children to dream more, learn more,do more and become more, you are indeed worthy of the title “Teacher”.
